Top Ten Techniques For Rapid Teeth Whitening Success

by: Clark Blaise

When you smile, one of the first things people notice about your face is your teeth, and more specifically how white they are. Dental science has provided us with a lot of ways to get the same smile that supermodels and movie stars enjoy, but for a lot less money. Here are the top ten ways to take advantage of that knowledge, that provide the most whitening in the least amount of time.

1) Cut Dark Drinks

The enamel in your teeth is porous, and therefore subject to being stained by the things that you imbibe. Teas, dark sodas and things of that nature can slowly darken your teeth over time, even if you have excellent dental care habits.

2) Too Much Fluoride

Fluoride is a chemical that bonds to the surface of your teeth, and can act as a protecting agent against decay. Many people in the United States receive fluoride treatments as children, but too much of it in your dental care regimen or products can cause discoloration.

3) Use an Electric Toothbrush

Its simple physics, the human hand can only deliver so many brush strokes over the course of the two minutes that the average person spends brushing their teeth each morning. Electric toothbrushes can deliver thousands more brushstrokes, and can lead to a much better cleaning. Teeth whitening is the natural outcome of clean teeth.

4) Professional Treatments

Obviously, any modern and well-equipped dentist's office will have the tools and know-how to whiten your teeth more brightly than anything you could do on your own. They can do it quickly, to boot, but the problem is that it can cost you an arm and a leg. You have to ask yourself what white teeth are worth to you.

5) Home Bleaching

A lot of companies sell home bleaching kits that involve treating your teeth in a relatively caustic substance overnight. While many of these systems are affordable and effective, you have to take care to follow the directions to the letter, or there could be some adverse consequences.

6) Water Rinse

Most people brush their teeth before bed, but then follow it up with a late-night snack before actually hitting the hay. It doesn't occur to them that whatever they eat or drink will stick to their teeth all night. Let the last thing you do before you actually go to sleep be washing your mouth out with cool, clean tap water.

7) Chew More Gum

Chewing gum can do more for your mouth than just giving you fresh breath. Gum is fairly indestructible, and acts as a mildly abrasive surface. Most people chew gum with their molars, and doing so can really help to clean up hard-to-reach spots on those back teeth.

8) Eat More Hard Fruit

You've heard the old adage about an apple a day keeping the doctor away. Hard fruit that takes a little effort to bite into can take care of removing old plaque that regular brushing can miss. Think of eating apples as a way of scrubbing your teeth very hard. It wont be wrong if we call them natures teeth whitening products.

9) Brush More Often

Most dentists recommend brushing a minimum of twice a day, but some say that brushing even more often is more optimal if you're actually trying to whiten your teeth. If you eat three meals a day, then you should be brushing your teeth three times a day. Good results will follow.

10) Avoid Gummy Candy

Anything that contains sugar and will have a tendency to get stuck in the crevices between your teeth is going to hinder your teeth whitening efforts. If you do give into the temptation, a thorough brushing should follow shortly thereafter.
With the flood of teeth whitening products in the market, it is advised to seek professional guidance and look for the reviews before choosing the one for you.
